Review: 2025 Kakawow Cosmos Disney Trading Cards – A Deep Dive Into the First 10 Boxes
The long-awaited 2025 Kakawow Cosmos Disney Trading Cards have finally arrived, and after cracking open an entire case—10 boxes—we can confidently say this release is one collectors will be talking about all year. Packed with thick premium cardstock, beautiful foil treatments, signature hits, die-cuts, parallels, and the debut of the Collection Poster insert line, Cosmos proves once again that Kakawow knows how to build a blockbuster set.
Below is our full review based on hands-on ripping, pack observations, hits, and overall collector appeal.
Box Design & First Impressions
Right out of the gate, Cosmos sets the tone with premium box artwork and clear numbering of each box out of the 8,000 produced worldwide. While 8,000 sounds like a large run, it’s relatively limited for a global fanbase—especially for a Disney IP.
Cards come with the signature thick Kakawow stock, consistent across packs and reminiscent of the 2023 Disney 100 Years of Wonder set. Collectors familiar with past Kakawow releases will feel right at home here.
Base Set & Parallels
The base checklist includes 210 cards, and despite opening 10 boxes, repeat frequency was surprisingly low. This is a huge plus, especially compared to many hobby releases that saturate with duplicates.
Parallels also shine in this set:
Silver Parallels have received a noticeable quality upgrade—cleaner foil, deeper color, and sharper edges than the 2023 series.
Green, Red, and other numbered foils offer satisfying rarity without feeling impossible to pull.
Some notable numbered hits from the break include:
Olaf Signature (13/25)
Woody Foil (43/100)
Cinderella Princess Card (15/100)
Prince Eric Cosmos (#/385)
Lotso Foil /25
Ariel /365
Cheshire Cat /365
Donald Duck “Chillin' With Disney” /188 & /75
Fred Die-Cut /20 (likely a case hit)
And more across the ten-box spread
Kakawow manages to keep parallels interesting without oversaturating the print run.
Collection Posters – A Standout Feature
One of the most exciting new insert lines is the Collection Poster cards, pulled from the top pack in nearly every box. These full-art mini-poster designs are vibrant, unique, and highly collectible.
Across 10 boxes, we saw zero duplicates, with highlights including:
Frozen
Alice in Wonderland
Zootopia
Donald Duck – Vintage Style
Mickey & Friends Bone Trouble
Cinderella
And others from classic and modern Disney films
Collectors of character-based mini-posters will love this new addition.
Scene Cards – The Weakest Part of the Set
While the overall checklist is strong, scene cards are where Cosmos falls short:
Scene cards appear in every pack
Yet the variety is surprisingly limited
Repeats begin showing up early and often
Some movies appear 4–5 times before seeing a different film represented
With the massive number of scenes across Disney’s library, this insert line feels underdeveloped compared to the rest of the product.
This repetition is the primary reason the set doesn’t earn a perfect score.
Autographs, Die-Cuts & Special Inserts
Cosmos delivers on the “wow” factor:
Signature Cards look phenomenal, with hits like
Bruno Madrigal /45
Mirabel Madrigal /100
Olaf /25
Die-Cut Characters (Rapunzel, Timon, Heimlich, etc.) add variety without being overly common.
"Chillin’ With Disney" Series continues to be a fun, flavorful insert line.
And while no booklet or quad-signatures appeared in this break, the checklist shows they exist—and they look incredible in person.
Set Size & Collecting Challenge
Kakawow remains true to its philosophy: big sets for big collectors.
Cosmos features:
A large base set
Multiple parallel layers
Character hits
Signatures
Posters
Die-cuts
Special foils
To complete just the base + three parallel layers, you’re already looking at 800+ cards, mirroring the scale of the 2023 Disney set.
For master collectors, this is heaven. For casual collectors, it may feel overwhelming.

Across 10 boxes, the hit distribution felt fair and rewarding.

Final Thoughts
Kakawow continues to prove why they are one of the most exciting companies in the trading card hobby.
The 2025 Cosmos Disney set is visually gorgeous, fun to rip, and loaded with value across the base, parallels, signatures, and posters.
If Kakawow increases the variety of scene cards next time, this would easily be a 5-star release.
