Topps Chrome Disney 100 Years of Wonder (2023) Box Review

I recently opened a box of the 2023 Topps Chrome Disney 100 Years of Wonder cards, and overall, it was a solid experience. This box has been a hot item recently, with prices hovering around $1,700 to $1,800 on eBay, which is quite a jump from when I originally bought mine a few years ago. I said I wouldn;t open these when I bought them, but now that I am doing the unboxing videos and reviews, it's time to share these with the world.

Packaging & Presentation:
The box itself feels premium with a nice foil design, and the individual packs look very sharp — definitely a visually appealing set for any Disney fan or card collector.

Card Quality:
The cards feel sturdy and have a great quality finish. They’re thick enough to feel substantial but not overly bulky. The edges are clean with no weird warping or flaking, which can be an issue with some foil cards.

Set Details & Contents:
Each box comes with 18 packs, and each pack contains 4 cards. A key selling point is that each box is guaranteed to have four numbered parallel cards, and I actually pulled five numbered cards, which was a nice surprise. The numbered cards are limited out of 99 or 299, adding good collectability value.

There’s a nice mix of base cards, refractors (which have a cool rainbow sheen), and inserts like "Iconic Moments" cards that highlight classic Disney scenes. Signature cards are also part of the chase, with autographs from various characters (or voice actors).

Highlights:

  • Pulled a variety of popular Disney characters including Dory, Hades, Peter Pan, Scrooge McDuck, and multiple Toy Story-themed cards like Woody and Buzz Lightyear.

  • The refractors and numbered cards really stand out, especially the rarer Stitch cards which are tough to find and valuable.

  • Iconic Moments inserts add a nostalgic feel and look really sharp in the light.

  • The set also includes cards that can be grouped to form small themed sets, which is great for resale or personal collecting.

Drawbacks:

  • Some packs contained only base cards with no inserts or parallels, which can be a little disappointing given the price.

  • The high price tag might be a barrier for casual collectors, especially if recouping your money is an important factor. I didn't feel like we made anywhere near our money back on this box. Even with the additional numbered card.

Final Thoughts:
This box is definitely geared toward serious Disney and card collectors who appreciate high-quality cards and the thrill of pulling numbered parallels and unique inserts. The card stock and design are top-notch, and the chance to get rare Stitch or iconic moments cards is a big plus. However, the price is steep, so make sure you’re ready for the investment.

If you’re a fan of Disney and card collecting, this is a fun set to chase.

Rating: 3.5/5 — Great quality and exciting pulls, but the price means it’s best for dedicated collectors.
