Product Review: 2024 Disney Premiere Cards by Epoch

As a collector and avid fan of trading cards, I was excited to rip into the new 2024 Disney Premiere cards by Epoch—a high-end product promising premium design, nostalgic art, and numbered collectibles. I opened two boxes in this video review, and here’s my full take on the experience:

⭐ First Impressions

Packaging & Feel:
Right out of the gate, the cards feel great. They feature a matte finish, which gives them a classy, upscale texture. Visually, many resemble greeting cards—colorful, theme-based, and artful—much more than your average trading card.

📦 What You Get

Each box promises a mix of:

  • 15 “Mickey and Friends” character cards

  • 15 cards themed around classic Disney works

  • Special inserts including metal, holo foil, and numbered parallel cards

  • Anniversary inserts for The Lion King (30th) and Big Hero 6 (10th)

  • One memorabilia photo card per box

  • Rare “Gem” insert cards featuring premium finishes

🃏 What I Pulled

Box 1:

  • Multiple numbered cards including a beautiful Elsa (#35/60), a Lion King “Hakuna Matata” holo (#450), and others ranging up to #120

  • A variety of character cards—Mickey, Goofy, Dumbo, Pinocchio, Alice in Wonderland, and more

  • Eye-catching designs like the “Peter Pan” foil cards and “Jump for Joy” Minnie Mouse (#91/120)

Box 2:

  • Much heavier on repeats, with many cards already seen in Box 1

  • Some highlights like a Baymax fortune teller card (#15/15) and another Baymax card (#14/50), but again—nothing massively unique

  • No sign of a memorabilia photo card or any of the elusive “Gem” cards (possibly overlooked?)

✅ Pros

  • Excellent card quality – Durable, luxe feel with rich illustrations

  • Fun Disney nostalgia – Classic characters and themed mini-stories

  • Decent pull rates for numbered and holo foil cards

  • Great for completing base sets quickly (if that’s your goal)

❌ Cons

  • Repetitive base cards – After just two boxes, I had enough for multiple base sets. The variety feels too limited for a “premium” line.

  • Lack of hits – Despite advertising inserts like memorabilia cards and gem foils, I didn't clearly pull any standout case hits.

  • Not great for chasing – If you're expecting thrills, surprises, or rare inserts, you may be left wanting more.

💬 Final Thoughts

The 2024 Disney Premiere cards are undeniably attractive and well-produced, but they lean too heavily on a small base set and come up short on exciting inserts or variety. They feel more like an aesthetic collector’s item than a high-stakes, thrill-seeking rip.

If you’re a Disney fan who appreciates beautiful card art and wants to build a complete set, this might be for you. But if you’re chasing rare pulls or high-end collectibles, you may find better value elsewhere.

Rating: 2.5/5

✔️ Great feel and nostalgia
❌ Repetitive, underwhelming insert ratio
🤔 Buy a box for the fun—but skip the case
